Over 70 Lions members from throughout the Lions District and guests gathered at ECBC Sports Club on Saturday 20May to celebrate the achievements and friendships of over 70 years of the Lions Club of Cessnock.

Our Lions Clubs International was toasted by the new national Leo of the Year, Georgia Bailey of our Cessnock Community Leo Club , responded to by our District Governor Denise Bruce, then  Jay Suvaal - Mayor of Cessnock saluted the Cessnock Lions recognising the club's value to the community. These thoughts were emphasised by Dan Repacholi MP.

After remembering those past Lions who gave us this club's proud legacy, our current longest serving Lions David Chalker and PDG Alan McKim  with current President David Harrington cut the celebration cake.

Following the luncheon, a pictorial presentation depicted many aspects of the club's history before roving microphone interviews of club members and traditional "Tail-(tale) Twisting" session.
