Dracula the Undead is the "official" Dracula sequel even though it contradicts and even re-writes the original story. It is also incredibly mean-spirited.
Bram Stoker (yes he appears in the novel) is depicted as a desperate and talentless hack who wrote “lies” and “a fanciful mockery of the truth.”
Count Dracula Prince Dracula is a good vampire that is "working for God", Jack Seward is a pathetic morphine addict, Jonathan Harker is a bitter alcoholic who sleeps with prostitutes, Arthur Holmwood is a coward who severed all ties with his friends and travels around the world doing dangerous missions in the hopes that he can die, Van Helsing is a crazy old traitor, and Mina has become a vampire nympho who is obsessed with Dracula and calls him her “dark prince."
And to add a cherry on top of the shit sundae... The true villain of Dracula was a lesbian vampire psycho named Elizabeth Bathory who is also Jack the Ripper.
In conclusion: Dracula the Undead is a ghastly mess.
