Course Goal
To teach the required knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for meeting the Illinois Concealed Carry permit application training requirement.
If you are contemplating getting an Illinois concealed carry permit, look no further. our 16/8 hour course will certify you with all the requirements that the state of Illinois requires for issuance of a concealed carry permit. The Illinois CCP course includes classroom instruction and live firing to demonstrate competency with a firearm (an Illinois requirement).
We are all NRA certified instructors, Illinois, Utah, and Florida Certified and are retired law enforcement Officers.
The course will be divided into classroom and range sessions.
Range sessions will not be available to students until the classroom portion has been completed.
1. Firearm safety;
______ a. 4 basic firearm handling safety rules
______ b. Home storage
______ c. Vehicle storage

2. Basic principles of marksmanship;
______ a. Stance
______ b. Grip
______ c. Sight Alignment
______ d. Sight Picture
______ e. Trigger Control
3. Care, cleaning, loading, and unloading of a concealable firearm, range time;
______ a. Firearm identification: revolver, semi-automatic, misc.
______ b. Ammunition identification and selection
______ c. Safety and cleaning protocols
______ d. Cleaning equipment
______ e. Loading and unloading
4. All applicable State and Federal laws relating to the ownership, storage, carry, and transportation of a firearm;
______ a. The Act in its entirety,
1) with emphasis on 430 ILCS 66/10(h) which includes instruction on the appropriate and lawful
interaction with law enforcement while transporting or carrying a concealed firearm.
2) with emphasis on 430 ILCS 66/65 which includes instruction on prohibited areas and the parking
lot exception.

1) 720 ILCS 5/7-1. Use of force in defense of a person**

4) 720 ILCS 24/1 et. seq. Unlawful Use of Weapons****
We will define dwelling, aggressor, forcible felony and unlawful use of weapons pursuant to the ILCS.
5. Weapon Handling;
______ a. Dry fire practice drills, handgun fundamentals
______ b. Dry fire practice drills from concealment
______ c. Live fire practice drills, handgun fundamentals
______ d. Live fire qualification with a concealable firearm consisting of minimum of 30 rounds which must
include 10 rounds from a distance of 5 yards; 10 rounds from a distance of 7 yards; and 10 rounds
from a distance of 10 yards at a B-27 silhouette target approved by the Illinois State Police.
Illinois State Police has a list of acceptable prior training to satisfy up to 8 hours of the 16 hours.
If you have completed any of the below, you can register for the 8 hour course instead of the 16 hour course.
You must have a total of 8 hrs. prior training, to get 8hrs credit off training.
