自介

Biography

Dr. Hung graduated from National Cheng-Kung University with a BS degree in Civil Engineering in 2001. He then continued to pursue an MS degree (2003) in Civil Engineering focusing on structural mechanics of light-weight materials. After serving in the Public Construction Commission for two years in Taiwan, Dr. Hung attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. At the University of Michigan, he received a Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Prof. Sherif El-Tawil in Civil Engineering (2010), concentrating on high-performance concrete materials and structures and high-rise RC coupled structural walls. In addition to the Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering, Dr. Hung also received an MS degree in Mechanical Engineering (2010) with a focus on the field of smart materials and structures.

The objective of Dr. Hung research is to develop durable and sustainable concrete infrastructures. He is particularly interested in the development of advanced cement-based materials and earthquake-resistant RC structures. To investigate his research problems, Dr. Hung applies materials and large-structural tests, hybrid tests, and computational modeling techniques.

Dr. Hung is a research fellow at the National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering in Taiwan. He is Chair of the Committee on International and Cross-strait Affairs for Taiwan Concrete Institute. Dr. Hung has also been a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and serving the society's prestigious Journal of Structural Engineering (JSE) as Associate Editor since 2013. He was a member of the Awards Committee (2018-2019) and Guest Editor (2019-2020) for the Special Collection on "RC Structures with High and Ultra-high Performance Materials" for the Journal.
