For this assignment, students will be asked to examine their personal rhetoric. This could involve analysis of their social location, cultural/historical background, and identity to see how these parts of their lives affect how they communicate.
The purpose of this examination is to help students become more aware of the rhetorical moves they make on a daily basis to affect an audience, and, as a result, they will know which issues they must pay attention to when they aim to reach an audience with members from social groups that differ from the ones they belong to.
