My research explores interventions in pathology and healthy ageing across two main topics:
movement planning and execution, and mood and emotion processing.

> Cortical excitability after stroke
How does cortical excitability change in patients with upper limb impairments after stroke? Do differences in excitability change the effects of non-invasive brain stimulation? These questions are explored early and late post-stroke. Visit ReCAPS Study website.

> Apraxia and motor imagery
Are object-use errors seen in apraxia associated with impairments in motor imagery (dynamic simulation of movement)? Can tDCS alter motor imagery ability when making object-use decisions? These questions were explored in apraxic stroke patients and healthy volunteers.
With Dr Magdalena Ietswaart, Dr Larry Taylor, and Prof. Martin Edwards.
How does brain stimulation (tDCS/tRNS) effect state mood and emotion processing? How do these effects differ depending on individual differences, including age, trait mood, and cardiovascular risk factors?
