私の研究では、ことばを読んだり聞いたりして意味が分かるという一見当たり前のようでいて謎に満ちた現象を取り扱い、心理言語学の観点から母語と第二言語理解における文理解メカニズムの検証に取り組んでいます。具体的には、言語を使用する際に文のインプットがどのように脳内で処理され理解につながるかというテーマのもと、人間が聴覚情報や視覚情報を処理する際の読み時間やアイトラッキング(眼球運動計測)など時間解像度に優れたデータの分析をすることで、語彙の意味情報、音声のプロソディー情報、さらには統語的プライミング (先行する特定の文型が後続の処理を促進または抑制する効果)などの認知現象が文のインプットに即して行われる漸次的処理過程(incremental processing)にどう影響を与えるかを明らかにしています。現在進行中の実験プロジェクト
