Cartool Installation

Machine configuration

The optimal setup is to use a Windows PC:

• • The fastest PC you can get, with Windows 10 or above for the new Cartool64

  • An OpenGL-accelerated graphic card

  • At least 8Gb of memory

  • The bigger the screen, the more comfortable it will be, so at least 1600x1200 pixels

  • A mouse with 3 buttons will also be more comfy

On Mac, Cartool seems to behave quite nicely under the Parallels VM. It may need some tweaking of the OpenGL settings, though...

How to install

Note 1: You need to have the rights to install a new program on  your machine, and let your anti-virus accept it
Note 2: Please do not forget to register.

• • First installation: run the 'Cartool64Setup.exe' file.

  • Upgrading: run the newest 'Cartool64Setup.exe', and select Repair from the installation menu.

  • Downgrading: in case you need to revert to an earlier version of Cartool, you have to uninstall your current version of Cartool first. Then, you can install the desired version.

How to uninstall (why should you?)

• • There should be a Uninstall Cartool entry in the Windows menu of Cartool, just use it!

• • Run again the 'Cartool64Setup.exe' file.

  • Choose Uninstall when asked between Modify / Repair / Uninstall.

or

• • Go to the Control Panel

  • Double click on the Add or Remove Programs, when the list of installed programs appears, select Cartool and click Remove.

  • The Cartool Installer is run again, but then choose Uninstall when asked between Modify / Repair / Uninstall.

  • But why do you want to disappoint me by uninstalling that nice piece of software?
