We raise healthy Katahdin/Dorper cross hair sheep that breed, birth and raise their young as a natural herd. Our sheep have never had footrot or scald or diseases since we keep a closed herd. With no foot trims, no tail docks or shearing required, they prove to be a low maintenance herd. Our hair sheep are clean on their face, belly, tail underside and legs, which makes it nice for lambing. Hair sheep can breed year round and ours normally produce twins. Our lambs are born in late spring and/or early fall. Our hair sheep start to shed their hair coats as early as February. Since they shed on their own, they don't require shearing or extra feed to grow fleece for over winter like wool sheep. Hair sheep are the sheep of the future because they prove to be less maintenance than wool sheep. We selectively breed our best ewes with our best rams for the best lambs. We select for, best of health, natural mothering instincts, AA fast shed hair coats that completely shed and fast growth in our lambs with muscle and good weight by six months of age.
