YOUR AMAZING BRAIN
Have YOU ever considered the power of the Human Brain?
The brain, a physical organ , confined by skull bone, produces a phenomena called the “mind” which is not itself
confined and can transcend the restrictions of the skull.
The human brain is without a doubt the most intricate and wonderful device on the planet today. So amazing is it, in fact,
that we have never been able to duplicate it, even by the most sophisticated computer.
Our brain is the “Control Center” for every automatic function of our bodies. Our heart beats without thinking and our lungs
inflate and deflate all by their self.
At the same time every other organ in our body performs in perfect harmony; All doing their job simultaneously without
exerting a single thought to make it happen.
Imagine all of the organs in the body functioning like a huge orchestra without as much as a single conscious thought
directing it. Our brain will just keep them all doing their job, automatically, 24/7.
What a remarkable event!
Now consider, if you will, a violinist while playing a concerto being asked to tie his/her shoes at the same time. Or a pianist in
the middle of playing Beethoven’s Sonata asked to massage someone’s shoulders while he/she continues to play. Improbable,
to say the least, that this would be successful.
However, as our own orchestra plays within us automatically, our brain can easily be asked to also do other tasks on command
and perform superbly.
How can the human brain do this, all things considered?
It cannot stop your organ function while it responds to another task or put your immune function on hold for a little while so
it can take care of other responsibilities. Instead during this entire automatic, life sustaining work, your brain can, for
example, allow you to speak, in addition.
This multi- layered task is not quite automatic but almost. We sometimes call it “2nd nature “for lack of better terminology.
However, your brain allows you to use your lips, your vocal cords, and measured air flow from your lungs to form specific
sounds on command.
This is multitasking at its finest! Stringing together multiple sounds to form complex sounds called words adds yet another
dimension to this
experience. When doing this action our brain also allows us to hear the sound through our ears , to see what is before us with
our eyes, to feel a
gentle breeze across our skin, to process all of this information, to form emotions about the information, log the information,
store it in the proper place, and connect it to the subconscious mind for future reference; all instantaneously! WHEW!!
In a flash it is done. It is extra-high speed internet plus..plus..plus. The results are truly phenomenal.
As if this is all not enough our brain has the capacity to influence our health, both physical and emotional. Our brain can, in
fact make us sick. We see this manifest every day in the form of ulcers, gastritis, colitis, Irritable bowel, it can inhibit immune
function, give you hives and produce even life threatening ailments. We say stress, stress, stress is the culprit.
Conversely, our brain has the incredible power to heal. It can soothe us, create for us calm and allow, even promote, healing to
take place within us.
Our brain is neither our friend nor our enemy. Our brain is simply there to serve us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It has the
capacity to give us what we need or require from it. All we need to do is ask. Yes, this is correct ..all we need to do is ask for
what we need.
Our brain is simply the most remarkable piece of equipment on the planet and the best part of it is….we all have one!
Yes! Yes! Yes!
We all possess this awesome tool, this wonderfully sensitive, intricate piece of equipment is ours. It cannot be stolen, lost,
repossessed, or given away. It is ours for a lifetime. We only need to learn to ask it in a constructive, healthy way to give us
what we need.
Take a moment to consider the workings of your brain. Consider all that it does without the asking. Imagine, as you consider
this what power it must have beneath the surface. You can be grateful for it; understanding that your brain is always there to
support you just for the asking.
IN our next segment we will discuss the power of impressions and the power of our words and thoughts.
1. How do we ask our brain for what we need?
2. What is the conscious and subconscious mind?
3. How will I know if I am able to do this work?
4. What is Food for the brain?
5. What can I do to utilize the power of my mind?
