About Professor Balanço

Roderick J. Davis (Balanço) began intensive training under the instruction of Mestre Panão in 2005 and within a year through hard work and dedication was able to bring Mestre Panão to his community to start Capoeira Resistência in Richmond, VA. For more than a decade Balanço has studied and trained directly with, taught and traveled all over the US and Brazil with Mestre Panão. Through his dedication to training and his commitment to Capoeira Resistência and his Mestre, Balanço graduated to one of Mestre Panão's first American Instructors in 2015. Balanço started teaching capoeira in Charlottesville, VA in 2016, while continuing his studies and training with Mestre Panão. After 15 years of Balanço's dedication to Capoeira Resistência, Mestre Panão promoted him to the rank of Professor in November, 2020. As of January 2023, Professor Balanço will be teaching capoeira in Richmond, VA.

Prices (First class is free for those new to capoeira!)

Monthly payment: $100 per month (Adults and Kids), $75 (College Students)

Payment per class: $15 per class (Adults and Kids), $10 per class (College Students)
