About Us

The Capital Area Concert Band was founded to provide an opportunity for volunteer musicians in Springfield, Illinois, and the surrounding communities to continue to play their instruments after high school. The group currently includes over 50 musicians, ranging in age from 18 to 80s. We are open to anyone who has completed high school; auditions are not required, and there is no cost to participate.

The group rehearses on Tuesday nights, September through May, at the VFW Post 755, ??? Old Jacksonville Road, Springfield, IL.
