What do you get when you combine 100 fifth graders with 100 lab coats? The Learn By Doing Lab (SCM 302) is a great way to help get kids excited about science while you gain teaching experience. And you don't even have to leave campus! Several sections of SCM 302 are offered every Winter and Spring Quarter. Once a week about 100 elementary or middle school kids visit Cal Poly and do hands-on science with Cal Poly students as the instructors. Students registered in SCM 302 get to decide how to organize and teach the activities.
SCM 302 is a 2-unit, Pass/No Pass class. Many Biology students use SCM 302 as an advisor approved elective.
