WebAssign is an e-learning environment where you can find further resources and exercises linked to Stewart's Calculus book. If you bought a copy of the textbook, you should also have an access code for WebAssign. If you don't have one, WebAssign is not mandatory for this course, so you don't need to purchase access if you don't want to (see also point 6) below).
How to enroll on WebAssign.
1) Go here
2) Enter the class key uwo-9424-7258 in this way:
3) Click on "Enroll" and then on "Yes, this is my class" (just double-check the information you see actually displays our class, but everything should be good).
4) Click on "Create Account" on the next window.
5) When asked for your email, use your @uwo.ca email address (if you don't have one yet, wait to create an account until you do). Make sure you tick on the box at the bottom of the page before creating your account:
6) When asked to "Verify Payment", click on it to use the access code that came with your book. Follow the instruction under the "Enter Access Code" column. (Do NOT "Purchase Access" under the "Purchase Acces Code" column: it is pretty expensive and not needed for the course.) You can also purchase an access code separately (scroll down the linked page to see how), but this is NOT mandatory for the course. You should have a 2-week free-access period anyhow, so you can try WebAssign out.
7) This is the part of WebAssign you will use:
If you click on the various links to each Chapter, you will see there are quizzes you can take (as many times as you want) and tutorials you can watch. You can use them to review and self-assess your own skills as you go on with your studies. NOTHING you do on WebAssign will be officially marked, that is, nothing you do there will affect your final course grade.
