Listening

C1 listening targets:

A C1 listener can understand enough to follow extended speech on abstract and complex topics beyond his/her own field, though he/she may need to confirm occasional details, especially if the accent is unfamiliar.

A C1 listener can recognise a wide range of idiomatic expressions and colloquialisms, appreciating register shifts.

A C1 listener can follow extended speech even when it is not clearly structured and when relationships are only implied and not signalled explicitly.

In order to achieve these targets you should listen to English every day! Do not listen to comfortable accents and information you know.

Challenge yourself with a variety of accents, a variety of listening types and increasing difficulty.
