Culture and Language

As most of you know, I was born in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. My parents were both Spanish. I lived in

Canada during most of my youth so I consider myself mostly Canadian. However, Spanish has always been a part of my life, too. This duality together with my early multicultural years configured my love for travelling, languages and above all cultures.My PhD is about language and culture in language learning. Although I finished it and published it many years ago, I still work in this fascinating field. That is why I went to Saudi Arabia, that is why I love to travel and get to know different cultures.

If you learn a language without the culture, you will always be lacking something. You will lack the nuances that you can understand when reading and listening. You won't get "jokes".
