Greetings!
It is a glorious day here on Butternut Lake as I write this. The leaves are turning and sharing their bursts of orange and red and yellow as fall marches forward. How lucky we all are to be surrounded by such beauty!
It was a wonderful summer and I am grateful for many beautiful days on the lake. Grateful also, for the calls of eagles and loons. I am always happy to know that they are back and living amongst us.
I think gratitude is the theme of this note. The longer I am here, the more I realize how many people give so much of their time and energy and resources to our lakes and our lake communities. I mentioned this at our annual meeting but it continues to amaze me. I won’t name everyone, but you know who you are . . . the people who put the lake buoys in and out, the people who chop the wood for sale and manage the stand, the people who monitor the boat landings, the people who fight fires and administer to the sick and injured, the people who manage the transfer station, the people who organize the mustard pull, the people who test the water and write grants and manage our finances, and the people who put this newsletter together. To you we say THANK YOU! You are seen and appreciated and important!
If you are new to our association, welcome! We are excited to have you as part of our lakes family and I hope you have many wonderful years with us! And to everyone . . . have a safe and healthy fall and winter. If you want to get involved in any capacity at all, please reach out to me or anyone on the board — we would love to have you!
All the Best,
