Burwell Judo Club is affiliated to the British Judo Association, the Sport's National Governing Body in the United Kingdom. The club's number is 1184. We have been an affiliated club right from the start.

Affiliation brings advantages:
the grades that are awarded in the club are recognised throughout the world
when members join the British Judo Association they get personal accident insurance for a limited range of incidents (although we would point out that in the club's 45 year history we have only had to get medical attention on 5 occasions. Judo is a very safe sport
the coaches have recognised qualifications

The British Judo Association is the body that selects the teams for the UK for the Olympic Games and the Commonwwealth Games.
