Homework

MESH Folders will come home on Thursday and are to be returned on Monday (Tuesday if we have NO SCHOOL). Please sign in the right had side showing me that you've reviewed the information inside of the folder and return any important information that you need me to see. I prefer personal notes or money inside of an envelope with your student's name and Room 1 on the outside of it just in case it is dropped in the hallway.

In the Weekly Newsletter you will often find an "At Home" suggestion. Often these suggestions go along with what is being taught at home. The assignment should not be a surprise to your student. Often they should be able to guide you with the assignment.

Monthly Calendar, as I stated at Back To School Night, this calendar is for your child to do at home. I prefer they attempt three projects per week but you do not need to limit them to just three. Since this is an optional project you do not need to return paper or work to me at the end of the month.

A handwriting worksheet will be sent home on Thursday in the MESH folder. Please return the worksheet in the MESH folder on Monday. On the back of the handwriting homework you will find an Alphafriend poem for your child to practice reciting.

I suggest your create a "book box" to keep their student created mini books and theme based student made books that are sent home. This is a perfect way to reinforce what we practice at school at home. These are books your student has worked hard on here at school so please take the time to let them read to you their "very best" work.

Book Bags will be sent home once a week(beginning in October) and are due on Tuesday at drop off. Your student must return their book bag with all it's contents on these days to ensure they will receive one on the next day. Late or missing book bags create issues when students do not turn them in on time as it creates a domino effect in the exchange process. If the bag is submitted late there is NO guarantee that your child will get a new one that week. If your child is ill or absent for any reason, please make arrangements with a classmate's family or turn the bag into the office before school so I can exchange it for a new one.
