BUCKSPORT GARDEN CLUB DONATES SCULPTURE TO LIBRARY
On October 12th the Bucksport Garden Club presented a gift of bronze statues to the Buck Memorial Library in Bucksport. The bronze statues of two young children reading story books were mounted on stone and placed in the garden near the library entrance. Bucksport Garden Club members have cared for the library gardens in spring and fall for many years as part of their community beautification projects. The statues were placed at the 131-year old library as a symbol of the importance of reading in the lives of young children. Freshwater Stone and Brickwork of Orland donated their time and expertise to mount the statues. (Contributed by Susan Steingrass, President of the Bucksport Garden Club.)
