March Campout this WEEKEND

We are camping this weekend at Guyasuta. Please be at the church by 5:30pm on Friday to help load the trailer. If you are the cook for your patrol, and bringing a cooler with food that need to go into the trailer, it is important to arrive no later than 5:30. Nothing else goes into the trailer until the coolers are loaded.

Sea Base - June 2019.

The Troop has been invited to send a crew of 4-6 scouts (and 2 adults) to participate in a Coral Reef Sailing adventure from June 15, 2019 to June 21, 2019. Crew members will spend a week on a large sailboat over 40 feet long, sailing the Florida Keys and having the chance to snorkel some of the most beautiful reefs in the Keys and part of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. They will also have the opportunity to study astronomy, navigation, fish identification, and coral reef ecology. Cost for this adventure will be approximately $2,000 per participant. Any first class scout over the age of 13 next June is eligible, provided his is a strong swimmer. We anticipate that we may have more than 6 scouts interested in this adventure. If that is the case, preference will be given to more senior scouts. Anyone selected to participate will need to make a $150 deposit by April 1. Mr. Nelson will be available after this week’s meeting (March 13) to discuss this opportunity in greater detail.

Scouting for Food:

Dates have been set for Scouting for Food. We will drop off door cards on Saturday April 7th, and pick-up, sort, and delivery food to the Food Bank on April 14th. Sign-up sheets for door tag distribution, food pick up, and sorting are on the website. A map of the routes has also been added.

Plumbing Merit Badge

Scouts who have not completed their plumbing merit badge requirements are asked to bring the materials needed to complete to the next Troop meeting.
