June Camping Trip – Guyasuta Paddle Pedal
Troop will be Adirondack / Tent camping at Guyasuta this weekend. Please be at the church by 5:30pm tonight to help load the trailer. If you are the cook for your patrol, and bringing a cooler with food that need to go into the trailer, it is important to arrive no later than 5:30. Nothing else goes into the trailer until the coolers are loaded. Scouts should also make sure they have money for dinner.
On Saturday the scouts will participate in the Paddle Pedal program. Participants meet at Camp Guyasuta and hike 5 minutes to the marina in Sharpsburg. There you are given instruction on paddling. Participants go from Sharpsburg to Millvale OR PNC Park and then bike back to Camp Guyasuta along the river trail.
Roundtrip to PNC Park takes about 5 hours * Guided by Camp Guyasuta staff * Safety pontoon boat follows canoes or kayaks *
Truck chase crew follows along the trek * Lifejackets, Paddles, Canoes, Kayaks and Bikes are provided * Helmets are available ifyou do not bring your own
Class A's - 6/12 Meeting
Please wear your class A's to the meeting on June 12th.
Swim Test
The swim test will be at the Forest Hills Pool on Wednesday, June 13 from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Scouts are not required to pay to get into the pool; tell the person at the gate that they are there to take a swim test for boy scouts.
Summer Camp Medical Forms
All scouts and adults (even if you are staying at camp only part of the week) attending summer camp must have a current and complete BSA medical form on file with the troop. The medical form consists of parts A, B, and C. In addition Heritage Reservation requires a supplemental form indicating what medications and over the counter medications may be administered. The BSA medical forms and the supplemental form are available on the troop website.
Some important reminders about the medical forms:
Part A: the signature of the scout and the parent are required or just the adult if it is their own form
Part B: include dates for vaccinations (give approximate dates if necessary)
Part C: the physical exam must be signed and dated by the person giving the exam - the exam must be dated after July 15, 2017
Please also Attach a copy of the front and back of the scout's or family's medical insurance card(s).
We cannot take a scout to camp if any of the medical forms are missing or incomplete. The staff at Heritage will not permit the scout to stay at camp if any medical forms are missing or incomplete.
Please turn in all medical forms by June 30. If you will be unable to submit the forms by this date please let me know when you will be able to give us the completed forms.

If you would like to purchase Class B shirts please e-mail Mireille Courtright at Mireille.courtright@gmail.com with the number and size request. T-shirts are $15.00 for Youth L, Adult S-XL $20.00 2Xl and larger. She will make arrangements to pick up payments and deliver the t-shirts with you.

The next PLC meeting will be Wednesday June 6th at 7:30 at St. Maurice Keane Hall. All SPL, Patrol Leaders, or their designated assistants should plan to attend.
