The Piedmont Council has produced a unique shoulder patch for the 2010 National Jamboree in honor of the 100 year anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America and recognizing Pete Docter, a Piedmont resident and the Oscar award winning director of the Disney-Pixar Studios movie “Up.”
The movie character Russell is a composite of some of the boys in one of our troops. He represents the true spirit of enthusiasm and adventure for Scouting. The balloons, of course, are from the movie but also represent the 100th birthday of Scouting in the United States.
Three patches make up a limited edition set which includes a letter of authenticity: one with a red border, the second with a yellow border and a third “ghost patch” all in blue.
