ISLAND PARK TRASH REGULATIONS
Please be aware that you are in bear country! Businesses and residences within the incorporated city limits are required to store their solid waste in bear resistant trash containers or in a locked, enclosed space. If at all possible, do not store your trash outside, try to keep it inside until it is time to take it to the landfill.
Be mindful that your action or inaction may result in the untimely death of a bear and may be the cause of human/bear altercations.
Do not keep food items in your vehicles or outside of your home. Do not leave coolers outside even though they may be empty, bears have come to recognize those as a place to find food.
Be safe and have a great summer!
BRUNT CABIN TRASH INSTRUCTIONS
We do not have "Bear Proof" Trash cans. If you have items in the trash that may tempt the bears, please store the trash cans in the shed, if possible, rather than at the side of cabin. Be sure to close the shed door and lock it when you are away from the cabins, The day you vacate the cabin the trash cans should be empty. Please take your trash to the Island Park Landfill often and before you depart the cabins. Thanks!
