Current issues
The Friends of the Orchard represents the needs of the community who use the Orchard open space. We work collaboratively with the landowners Bath Recreation Ltd as an entry point for exchange of information about the Orchard on Broadmoor Lane, and help steer the direction of the space, encourage community participation and promote environmental sustainability. We register the Orchard as part of the Royal Horticultural Society's 'It's Your Neighbourhood' scheme through Britain in Bloom, and maintain active links with other local groups. We are constituted to work to minimise any potentially adverse impacts on the Orchard or the community's enjoyment of the Orchard arising from any development in the vicinity.
Friends of the Orchard participates in the Royal Horticultural Society's It's Your Neighbourhood scheme, where the Orchard has been lauded with special recognition for its community participation and environmental benefit.
Take part in our 'Green Gym' sessions to help make the Orchard a wildlife haven. Please email Sandra and Shahzia at FriendsOfTheOrchardBath@gmail.com to help put our Landscape and Ecological Management Plan into action with volunteer sessions on-site.
