I have been at Zoox since Jan 2015, but before that I was working on the following projects:
From Oct 2012 to Dec 2014: Stanford, self driving car project, see some videos from this project
From July 2011 to Aug 2012: SMART center (Singapore), autonomy for mobility on demand. More from the project's web site.
From July 2009 to June 2011, I was investigating ways to evaluate the mental workload from EEG or fNIR recordings. See details here.
From January 2008 to June 2009, I developed an autonomous mobile robot that participated in the first edition of the TechX Grand Challenge, a robotic competition help in Singapore. The robot had to reach a designated building, overcome a flight of stairs, find and use the elevators, detect and touch a dozen of targets, and come back to its starting point within one hour. More details here.
From January 2004 to December 2007, I worked on my PhD project: a brain controlled wheelchair. Using an EEG P300 BCI, the subject can select a destination within a list of predefined locations. The wheelchair reaches the destination by following virtual guiding paths. Emphasis was put on safety and ease of use, while maintaining the overall cost of the equipment low. More details here.
