Research

My research focuses on developing and empirically applying structural multi-member household consumption models and multi-output production models. To obtain robust and nonparametric identification results I make use of revealed preference techniques. You can consult this video made by ULB  and this febtalk to find out more about my passion for research.

Since I am a strong believer of team science, I have spent quite some time to help improving research at my own institute: as director of ECARES (2013-2021), vice-dean of research at SBS-EM (2018-...)  and member of the research council of ULB (2014-...). Next, I am one the main principal investigators of the Belgian interuniversity research group GARP and networks MEqIn and IWABE. Finally, I regularly co-organize workshops to bring people together. The prime examples are my yearly national workshop for researchers in family economics (broadly speaking), my yearly international two-day workshops in family economics (below are some pictures of the 2022 and 2023 event) and the yearly Christmas meeting of Belgian economists.
