2019 Conference Details

Theme: Bridging Brains - Enriching Minds

On its 6th year, BrainConnects takes a big step in holding its annual meeting in the Philippines. As a Special Interest Group for Neuroinformatics of Aging, it has fostered the exchange of knowledge towards the understanding of aging related brain changes and mechanisms of disease through neuroimaging technologies. It has continuously engaged and successfully connected premier Pacific - Asian institutions in high-resource countries on this special field. Yet population aging is a worldwide phenomenon across all economic status and Asia is soon to be home to more than half of the elderly population. The theme of BrainConnects 2019, “Bridging Brains Enriching Minds” is most apt as it connects to the Philippines intending to raise awareness on neuroinformatics of aging, encourage the exchange of ideas, spur collaboration, and hopefully champion innovation in aging interventions. This year's program will showcase presentations from six participating countries with topics on basic and advanced neuroimaging methods and discussions on cognitively healthy aging, pathology, diagnostics and intervention.

We welcome participants who can take action in this field and bringing local and national initiatives.

We especially welcome the bold ideas and energy of early career researchers. We aspire towards a culture of design-thinking and hacking.

BrainConnects 2019

On Oct 23rd and 24th 2019, we will hold our 6th annual symposium in the Philippines - BrainConnects- and foster this Special Interest Group (SIG) for Neuroinformatics in Aging under the International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility (INCF). We seek to establish global collaborations in aging research that leverage our complementary and trans-disciplinary expertise to create novel and high impact innovations that improve the quality of life of our aging population.

We are a global group of researchers with a special interest in developing & applying advances in neuroimaging, neuro- and cognitive sciences and engineering technology to enhance the cognitive and mental wellbeing of the aged. We are scientists, clinicians and engineers with diverse expertise in neuroimaging, clinical aging, cognitive psychology & psychiatry, robotics, biomedical engineering and computer science.
