ボストンなかまろ会について -About Boston Nakamaro Karuta club-

At Boston Nakamaro Karuta Club,  we learn classical Japanese poem anthology of Ogura Hyakunin Isshu and practice how to play Competitive Karuta since 2011.  

Nakamaro (阿倍 仲麻呂, c. 698 – c. 770), was a Japanese scholar and waka poet of the Nara period.  One of his poems was included in the anthology Hyakunin Isshu:

「天の原ふりさけみれば  春日なる三笠の山に 出でし月かも」

唐に留学した安倍仲麿は、望郷の想いをこの歌に詠み残したと伝えられています。ボストンは大学の街。留学後永住する者も多く、また日本と日本文化を愛する人々が世界中から集まっています。「ボストンなかまろ会」は小倉百人一首と競技かるたを学ぶ場として2011年9月に活動を開始しました。
