Bostjan Zupancic: MicroMetal is the side project exploring the use of 19-EDO tuning in heavy metal music.

After the release of Quiet Please in 2015, which contained music in 12-EDO, 19-EDO, and 24-EDO tunings, the project was born with certain constraints set in place:

1. Use only 19-EDO tuning

2. Music will focus on heavy metal elements

3. Keep lyrics clean

4. Incorporate instrumental pieces along with vocal songs

5. Vocals styles should be unconstrained

6. Minimize solos, maximize band coherence for the sake of the song

7. Work in multiple time signatures and tempos for each song

After spending some time finishing up other projects, work began on Vol I, which was released 19 July 2016.  The album received mixed reviews in the media, and sold modestly.
