There are many factors involved with choosing and implementing AT into the classroom. Not only does subject area come into play, but the cognitive process that needs to be addressed, and factors such as how practical it is, will the student use it, etc, are just as important.
There are 5 cognitive processes that affect learning. Below is a brief description of each as well as some examples of AT that support each area. At the bottom of the page there is a pamphlet attached from the Greater Essex County District School Board outlining these cognitive processes in more detail.
