Fritz Boge, aged 22, boarded the 'Bulimba' in London and set sail on 9th September, 1885 for Queensland. This ship made landfall at Townsville, Bowen and Maryborough before finally arriving at Brisbane on 5th November, 1885. [Ref: IMM/120 P388 M1701]
Herbert was the first of eight children; Sophia Christina (1892), Herman (1894), Marcus (1899, who died in infancy), John Henry (1901), Percy Fritz (1904), George Victor (1906) and Charles Leslie (1910).
The family seem to have lived at Machine Creek, Mt Larcom, a locality 35km west of Gladstone where Fritz made a living as a farmer.
Herman was the first to marry, wedding Bertha Matilda Hansen in Bundaberg in 1915. John married Annie Dorothea Cochrane in Rockhampton in 1938, and Charles married Mavis Gwendoline Farmer in 1939. George married Ida Grace Ferry in 1939.
Later in life, the couple, probably without adult children, moved to Alama Street, Rockhampton. Anna died after a short illness in 1927 and Fritz died in 1934 and was buried at North Rockhampton Cemetery.
