Stevia rebaudiana is herb native to the valley of Paraguay. It has been used as a sweetener for approximately 1500 years, in parts of South America. Stevia is the world’s only all natural sweetener with zero calories, zero carbohydrates and a zero glycemic index. It is the most healthy & natural alternative to sugar & artificial sweeteners such as aspartame & sucralose. Stevia leaf is 15 to 20 times sweeter than sugar & its extracts are around 100 to 400 times sweeter than sugar, mostly comprising of Stevioside & Rebaudioside. 

 

Stevia can be used to substitute sugar or artificial sweetener in carbonated drinks, fruit juices, health & sports drinks, yoghurts, desserts, jams & jellies, snacks, candies & confectioneries, chocolates, pastries, cookies, noodles, ketchup, beer, sauces, pickled vegetables, chewing gum, toothpaste etc. 

 

Stevia is the #1 sweetening agent in Japan & accounts for more than 50% of market share with an estimated size of 3 billion yen/yr. Today Stevia is consumed by billions of people from its native origins of Paraguay & Brazil to Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, France, Malaysia, USA, Canada, Russia & other countries. Stevia leaves are also known for their excellent skin tightening properties, in addition to their use as an anti-oral bacterial, reduction in hypertension, digestive properties & cardio-tonic properties.  Studies have also indicated that Stevia tends to lower elevated blood pressure but does not seem to affect normal blood pressure. It also inhibits the growth and reproduction of some bacteria and other infectious organisms, including the bacteria that cause tooth decay and gum disease. Stevia is an exceptional aid in weight loss and weight management because it contains no calories and reduces one's craving for sweets and fatty foods. When applied as a facial mask it effectively softens and tightens the skin, smoothes out wrinkles and helps to heal various skin blemishes including acne. Stevia is also effective when used on seborrhea dermatitis and eczema.
