Photography

I am currently a Librarian at a school in Central Virginia. However, I was born in Seattle, WA and grew up in Allentown, PA and went to College in Slippery Rock, PA. I feel that this gives me a unique perspective on life and lends me an unusual clarity to my vision.

I have been taking pictures for most of my adult life and have sold a few over the years since I was a teenager.

I have recently gotten into taking photographs again after a very brief hiatus and have impressed many of my friends and acquaintances with the artistry and viewpoint that I take. I often try to get unique subjects and angles. When I cannot get a unique subject or angle, then I try to use a little editing magic with some of the skills I have learned over the years with digital editing to make the picture unique and just a bit more individual. I have acquired some very good skills on the computer over the years using several editing programs and often switch between several programs before coming up with a final product. I also come from a long line of artists in my family. My mother is very artistic as is my brother, so are many of my aunts and cousins. I have recently been looking into my family background and there have been artistic types dating back to around the Civil War. So, in one respect, I am just pursuing a natural talent that many people in my lineage have had.
