Saturday 16 May 15 - 2:00 pm Register for run at Imperial Hotel. 3:00 pm Run/Walk starts (There will be a walkers' and a runners' trail that will meet up at various locations for collegiate libations.
3. Accommodation - Dave Oliver is the owner of the Imperial Hotel and he is offering a discounted rate for ensuite ($80) and shared facilities rooms ($60) (plus $20 for every extra person in the room) when you mention that you are attending the Hash House Harriers run event. First in first served as he only has about 8 rooms. There are numerous other accommodation options (in and around Cowra) which are listed in the attached document.
4. Hash Central Facilities - Dave has an undercover beer garden at the back of the pub and he will set aside an area for us. If weather is bad he will block out the dining area inside the pub for us. Menu is split into two sections with normal pub meals at $15 and step up food at $25-$30. There are at least three different pale ales on tap as a well as cider and the normal selection of lagers.
5. Car Parking - Entry to the extensive Imperial Hotel car park (which is located at the back of the beer garden) is down a covered private lane way on the right hand side of the pub. The pub itself is located on the left hand side of the main street (Kendal street) heading East (which will be the direction that Hashers from Canberra will be travelling).
6. Rehydration - Fortuitously, Cowra is a target rich environment re drinking venues - 7 pubs ( 5 x hotels - The Australian, Cowra, Imperial, Lachlan and Railway & 2 hotel motels - Sovereign and Valley) and 3 x clubs (Golf, Bowling and Cowra Services {RSL}) and 1 x winery cellar door outlet (the Quarry) which offers free tasting of local wines. The Imperial is the best pub in town for pale ale. Most did not have pale ale on tap and one that did (the RSL)- the Barman there observed when he poured my glass of 150 Lashes that " Gee that 150 Lashes has a really pale colour......" der!!!!!!!. The one saving grace of most pubs in town was that they served Resch's!!
7. Format - As per our normal away Hash weekends, we will start to drift into Cowra for a few cleansing ales at the Imperial on Friday evening 15 May 15 and the run itself will commence at 3:00 pm on Sat 16 May 15 from the Imperial Hotel. PnS and Splurry will be co-hares for the run which will have both a Walkers' and a Runners' trail. There will be a drink bucket Hash Halt at an appropriate oo-ah place and a number of pub stops woven into the run. Hash festivities post run (Down Downs and dinner) will be located at the Imperial.
8. Costs - $40 for exotic Hash paraphernalia, Bucket drinks on run and exotic liquor, Down Downs and round of drinks at a pub.
