Dr. Beibei Wang received the B.S. degree (with highest honors) in electrical engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 2004, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 2008 and 2009, respectively, earning the Dean's Doctoral Research Award. She then joined Qualcomm Corporate R&D before joining Origin Wireless AI in 2015, which was acquired by ADT in 2026, where she serves as Vice President of Research.
Dr. Wang's research transforms ubiquitous Wi-Fi infrastructure into commercial sensing platforms that address critical societal challenges—non-invasive health monitoring, fall detection, child-presence safety, and affordable home security. She has authored 120+ IEEE papers and 160+ patent applications (90+ granted/allowed), accumulating 12,800+ citations and an h-index of 57. She is a co-author of "Wireless AI: Wireless Sensing, Positioning, IoT, and Communications" (Cambridge University Press, 2019) and "Cognitive Radio Networking and Security: A Game Theoretic View" (Cambridge University Press, 2011). Her patented technologies power widely deployed commercial products recognized with three CES Innovation Awards.
Dr. Wang is an IEEE Fellow (Class of 2024) for contributions to wireless sensing and cognitive communications. She is the recipient of the 2025 IEEE Sensors Council Technical Achievement Award (Advanced Career) for contributions to theory, development, and commercialization of wireless sensing, and the 2025 IEEE ComSoc Fred W. Ellersick Prize, among other honors.
