Words from the Prez for May 2012

Post date: May 16, 2012 8:33:54 PM

Can you believe that it is already May and that there are just a few days of school left?  This year has been an unusual year; one reason that I think that it is unusual is because we did not miss any school because of snow and because of that anomaly we have Fridays off for the month of May.  I have enjoyed having my Fridays off and getting some things done before the rush of summer begins.

In the summer your negotiating team will be bargaining for educators across the district and working hard to keep Bartlesville a great place to work.  A survey was recently sent out and we will use the feedback to help us form the issues that we will take to negotiations. This is a way for you give your input and voice into things that you are not sure about.  Be sure when things such as the survey come out that you take the time to do them because they are how we hear the voice of our membership.  Also, if you have any issues, please feel free to go to your building representative or any of the officers who are listed in the newsletter or website.  BEA wants everyone involved so that we will remain strong and continue to have a strong and positive relationship with our administration.

I am proud to be serving as your president again, but we would like to get some new educators involved.  Our meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month and they are opened to all members of the BEA.  We would love to see you there and have new voices and ideas that will make our association stronger!  I look forward to seeing you next year and hope you have a great summer!
