TLE Updates

The TLE rubric for regular classroom teachers has changed for 2014-2015; you will find the new rubric and a comparison with the old one on the district website's TLE page at www.bps-ok.org/faculty/tle/

The BEA and the district administration have worked together to update the district's overview of the TLE appraisal system, summarizing issues for this year:

Although your TLE rating for 2014-2015 will again be entirely based on the qualitative domains in the Tulsa model, how your students perform in 2014-2015 will be 50% of your TLE rating in 2015-2016.

This is explained in the overview handout and summarized in the TLE FAQ on the district TLE webpage.

During bargaining this year we maintained the requirement that only district and site administrators who have received state TLE certification may conduct appraisals.

At the post-observation conferences with your appraiser you need to be prepared to discuss each dimension and be prepared to offer evidence that you are at a given level in the rubric. The conference is a professional dialogue to determine the most appropriate rating. Observation ratings AND final evaluation ratings CAN be modified during the post-observation conferences if the person being appraised provides evidence which convinces the appraiser to modify his or her initial ratings. It is a good idea to upload to OKTLE well in advance any evidence you can provide on your performance on a given dimension on the rubric.
