May Words from the Prez

Post date: May 7, 2010 9:02:27 PM

It is May, the final month of the 2009-2010 school year and my final month as BEA President. There are so many people I need to thank for support this year. First, I want to thank everyone who is a member of BEA. It is so awesome to be a part of an organization that stands together to make changes for the good of children and the advancing of our profession. I also want to thank all the Building Reps for the work they have done over this year. They have sat in many meetings and graciously served on committees that have made a huge difference to BPS. Most importantly I want to thank the officers. They have devoted a massive amount of time and energy to make sure the BEA has been informed, engaged, and a true force in the Bartlesville School District. Last, but certainly not least, I want to thank the Rib Crib. They have solely donated all of the gift certificates for the Hidden Member Program this year. It was always fun to search for your name and hopefully enjoy a night out on the BEA and the Rib Crib!

I am very excited about next year’s slate of officers. We have a lot of great people returning to their positions and some new and exciting people joining the team. I know Teresa Underhill will do a terrific job leading us as our new President. We must support her and all of the hard work that will have to be done next year. With SQ 744 coming to a vote, we must work together as an organization and do what we can to get it passed.

Thanks to everyone for giving me the opportunity to serve as your BEA President. It has been a very interesting and rewarding year.

Have a great summer!

Stacy
