We are just a very few short weeks away from our general election! (Can I get a hallelujah!?)
Be sure you check your voter status by October 11.
If you are NOT registered, get registered prior to October 11. You can register in person at your local election board (401 S Johnstone, suite 4), by mail or online.
If you need to update your voter registration, request an absentee ballot, find your polling place or view your sample ballot, get that taken care of quickly and easily online.
Mark your calendars for these dates:
October 11 - voter registration deadline
October 21 - absentee ballot request deadline
October 21 - November 1 (8am - 6pm) - early voting at your local election board (for Washington County, it's the election board, 401 S Johnstone)
November 2 (8am - 2pm) - early voting at your local election board
November 5 (7am - 7pm) - General Election at your designated polling place
If you vote by absentee and need a notary, the tag office, most banks, and our very own BEA Vice President Heather Davis are all free to notarize your ballot. (Heather will even give you a stamp to mail in your ballot!)
If you've never voted before OR would like to vote with others, several BEA Officers will be voting on Saturday, November 2 at 9am at the Washington County Election Board. You're welcome to vote with us! (Calendar invite sent.) Your minor children are always welcome to vote with you as well -- what a great way to teach them about the right and privilege of voting!
Finally, if you use social media, be sure to use the hashtags #oklaedvotes and #educatorsvote ... this will let everyone know that we are proud American educator voters!
However you choose to exercise your right, we hope you'll make a plan TODAY to VOTE!
