Did ya know?
We have a Facebook group! I'll post the entirety of this email in that group. We know not everyone is on social media, and we are working to get another method of communication in place. If you're on social media, please friend me (Heather Smith Davis), Anna Thom, Jayleen Mayes, Megan Freeman, Alana Murphy (or any of your facebook-teacher besties-member friends) and they can add you! If you friend us, be sure to tell us you're looking for the BEA group.

THROW BACK TO 1994 ... and other security issues
We understand that you are very, very busy trying to pivot and teach without the very technology that's become akin to our right hand. We also understand that you are concerned (and rightfully so!) about the security of your data. At a time of the year when we don't have time to think about much else, it's hard to think about what we need to do to protect our identity due to this data breach. NEA has already outlined steps for us to take so we check work through a list (instead of coming up with a list on our own!) CLICK HERE (https://www.neamb.com/personal-finance/fighting-back-against-identity-theft) for a great article with easy to follow steps about protecting our identities.

PICTURES & PIZZA!
We want to see pictures of your school year! Submit up to five (5) pictures by May 13. At our May 14 meeting, we will award one lucky teacher with a gift card to Lollipops! Submit them TO THIS FORM (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSft2myumT_aBxde2ln-u_e_zmikpXbeEmgdTT6xUmO8t2JmSw/viewform?usp=dialog). Thanks to the hacking, you can also email them to iluv2educ8@gmail.com OR text them to 918-914-0599. Be sure to include your name.
Good luck!

Summer Reading? HECK YEAH!
As part of the NEA's IDEA initiative, I will be leading a local book club this summer! The book, Demystifying Disability (Ladau), will be provided for you. We will get copies of our book and then meet one time to discuss. We'll likely meet the last week in July or the first week in August (around a firepit in the evening with tasty treats as all book clubs do!). This can act as our PL Focus for next year (indicator 6 - optimizes learning environment; 16 - effective use of modified curriculum; 17 - Professional Growth; 19 - effective stakeholder interactions). If you'd like to be a part of this book study, please email (davishj@bps-ok.org) or text (918-914-0599) Heather Davis. Book study is limited to 12 participants; we have a few spaces still available.
