BEA eNews-Jan. 2023

~Legislature is in Session

Public Education is always a hot topic during our legislative sessions. This year is no different. If you have questions about legislation, please reach out to an officer. It is important to note that it is ILLEGAL to use school resources (wifi, devices, and even contract time) to discuss legislative issues and/or advocate for any legislative action regardless of your point of view. Please be fierce advocates for Public Education and issues you are passionate about -- just make sure you do so on your own time using your own device.

~Organizing Conference

February 24-25 is OEA's Organizing Conference in Edmond. The Organizing Conference is a great way to network with other educators and help develop your professional organizing skills as well as your leadership skills. BEA will pay for your double-occupancy lodging and registration fee. (If you want single occupancy, you will need to pay half the room cost to BEA prior to the conference.) You will be provided with lunch on Saturday as a part of the conference. (You would purchase Friday evening meal and any additional snacks or drinks.)

We will form a carpool of those interested in going. If you'd like to attend, please email Alana Murphy, Heather Boyle or Heather Davis. Deadline to let us know you plan on attending is Friday, February 3.
