CIVICATION.
Civication is an opportunity to speak your voice, tell your stories, and make a difference at the capitol during the legislative session. There are two different trips: Overnight (going down on Monday and returning on Tuesday) and Day (going down Tuesday morning and returning that afternoon). Overnight trips are limited to members only. Day trips can include non-members as well.
Your overnight trip includes dinner and a hotel stay (double room) Monday night, breakfast on Tuesday morning, and a briefing so you know what topics and issues need to be addressed with our legislators. An officer will lead each trip. You'll purchase your own lunch on Tuesday. OEA will pay for your sub. You'll leave about 4:20pm on Monday evening and return (usually) by 4:00pm on Tuesday.
Your day trip includes breakfast on Tuesday morning, and a briefing so you know what topics and issues need to be addressed with our legislators. An officer will lead this trip. You'll purchase your own lunch on Tuesday. OEA will pay for your sub as a member (non-members will use school business days). You will leave about 6:00am and return (usually) by 4:00pm.
We are limited to 3 additional people on these trips, so please sign up swiftly.
You'll receive an email with more specific details the week before your Civication.
To sign up for Civication, please complete THIS FORM.

What Cool Thing Are You Doing?
Megan Dean, elementary virtual teacher at Kane, is being a really cool teacher! "We are bringing students in for our monthly social to paint rocks and then we will be hiding them around town for people to find!" Additionally, Megan's coworker says this about her. "She is always available to help or answer questions. She shares her experiences in teaching and supports other teachers." Way to be extra cool, Megan! Megan, who also serves as B E A's treasurer and member's rights contact, will receive a cool gift card in the school mail.
Are you doing something cool? If you are reading a good book, or listening to a great podcast, or going to a cool place or doing any cool thing, complete THIS FORM. You could win a gift card to some cool place and be featured in our enews!
