The Beaver House Restaurant is one of Statesboro's favorite restaurants. When the Beaver House opened, it was one of only a few family owned Statesboro restaurants. Most of the restaurants in Statesboro were fast food restaurants. There were only a few full service restaurants in Statesboro, Ga. Your choice of restaurants in Statesboro was simply few and far between. Now Statesboro has over 150 Restaurants and we are still a favorite among locals, college students and tourists. The Beaver House offers a unique boarding house restaurant experience. Our family style restaurant was modeled after Mrs. Wilkes restaurant in Savannah, Ga. Our restaurant is actually one of the few remaining boarding house style restaurants in the state of Ga. We are more of a restaurant than a boarding house or a bed and breakfast. Our restaurant serves two meals per day in downtown Statesboro, Ga. We are on the national register of historic places and a popular tourist attraction in Statesboro, Ga.
Family Style
Traditional Boarding House Style Meal We prepare a simple traditional Sunday Dinner twice a day. Our menu varies daily except for a few staples that made us famous. If you have ever had a peaceful Sunday dinner at your grandparents, you get the idea. Southern Fried Chicken prepared by hand which has nine pieces not eight. Scratch Biscuits prepared every morning with cream never water or milk. Black eyed peas over rice with a spoonful of pickle relish and chipped vidalia onion. A variety of vegetables and casseroles served in bowls and platters for you to fuss over. Requests for “seconds” are always considered a compliment. Sweet Tea is customary... Other beverages available upon request... if you dare.

Sue Beaver is the creative soul of the Beaver House Restaurant. John Beaver always said he taught my mother to cook, but at some point the student became the master. While my father was content to mastering the grill, my mother continued to challenge herself with the complexity of catering wedding receptions for 400 people. When we became comfortable catering "at home", she made us take our show on the road. Catering at someone's home has to be the most rewarding experience we have. Entertaining with the host in the intimacy of their own home takes a lot of trust from both parties and is very satisfying for our family.

The Beaver House Restaurant in Statesboro is a traditional boarding house style restaurant. The menu is reminiscent of Sunday dinner at grandma's house. Lunch and dinner is served in bowls and platters at private tables throughout the old family home. The Beaver family has created a casual atmosphere in this turn of the century mansion that will make you nostalgic for home.
