Always bid the safest, highest scoring bid you expect to make, given average distribution of cards among the unseen hands, in the absence of, or taking into account, any information from your partner's bid(s).

+1 for every card over 4 in any suit

+1 for every card under 3 in any suit other than trumps (only once trump suit agreed)

Bid at highest level for your point count, your lowest, longest suit

But support, by preference, with 4 of partner's suit (or 3, if partner has shown 5 by rebid etc.)

Only bid NT as rebid, but usually in preference to 4 of a minor, even with agreed minor trump suit

Only take out of NT with solid 6-card or 7+card suit

All doubles for penalty:

NT-yours and partner's shown points suggest 1 off

T-yours and partner's shown points suggest 3 off

To double NT, combined points shown must be at least:

To double suit contracts, combined points shown must be at least:

Pannol Punt:

NEVER first bid, NEVER when NOT 100% clear to partner, and NEVER NT

COMPETE for contract (when opponents expected to make positive score) – NEVER when contract held already

Count length points double, count shortage points even without agreed trump suit, and count shortage points double with agreed trump suit. Then bid up to maximum level shown above, as usual
