For more information on what we are doing or what we have accomplished, please visit our Facebook Page. Here are some of the projects we will be working on...

May 20-23, 2021: Iron Creek Horse Camp - Work Weekend

Our first major event for the summer will be held at Iron Creek. We will be clearing trails in the National Forest Service and Black Elk Wilderness. In addition to clearing trails, we will be graveling the pens and fixing spots in the driveway that need attention. The gravel will be provided by the Forest Service.

June 8, 2021: Clip and Sip Day Ride

This will be a day ride for light trail work. The site and time will be communicated on our Members Facebook page.

June 12-13, 2021: Old Baldy/Little Spearfish - Work Weekend

Issues that will be addressed are reroutes for bridges damaged due to flooding created by beavers in the area. A Ranger ride is proposed for Friday.

July 16-18, 2021: Bearlodge - Work Weekend

The specific project will possibly be Ogden Creek Loop or Carson Draw Loop. We will be working on the Bearlodge District trails. A Ranger ride is proposed for Friday.

August 6-8, 2021: Deerfield - Work Weekend

We will be working on trail maintenance in the Deerfield area from the Kinney Creek Trailhead.

There is a proposal for BH BCH SD to assist BHNF personnel with installation of new gates. The funds for gates/materials have not been identified at this time. Mystic District has a skid steer and post hole digger to assist with the gate installation.

August 13-15: Wyoming Rendezvous - Bighorn Mountains

After our busy summer we will relax and enjoy some time with our Wyoming colleagues at a the Wyoming Rendezvous in the Bighorn Mountains. We are all looking forward to that!

September/October 2021: Potential Projects

We have been asked to help replace the bridge at the inlet of Castle Creek to Deerfield Lake. We need to wait for low water level to coordinate the project, check bridge abutments, construction, etc. A Retired USFS Engineer will oversee the project. All project materials are available. BH BCH SD would assist with labor for this project. The bridge would be widened to accommodate stock and safer for all recreational users.
