Purpose: The purpose of this announcement is to provide BCDSS youth and staff with information about Employment Opportunities.

Description: Job training and placement provided for careers in:

• Solar Energy Installation

• Energy Efficiency

• Lead and Asbestos Remediation

Each training track includes:

• Industry recognized certifications and marketable job skills

• Preparation for jobs in the rapidly growing green economy

• Job Placement upon successful completion of the program

• Entry Level positions offering family sustaining wages

The Center for Sustainable Careers trains Baltimore City residents for green jobs in brownfield remediation and weatherization and place them in full time jobs. Trainees earn industry-recognized certifications, learn employability skills, and receive case management and on the job training. Since 2009, 91% of our graduates have been placed in full-time employment earning between $12 and $20 per hour.
