Texas-based conductor, Dr. Bonnie Borshay Sneed, currently is the Director of Choirs at McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas. She also is the founder and conductor of Nave Voices, an adult chamber choir of singers from nine states. They made their solo Carnegie Hall performance in 2014 and have toured in Atlanta, Orlando, Dallas, Memphis, Chicago and New Orleans. They returned to singing LIVE in Boston in 2021.
Dr. Bonnie Borshay Sneed has been a collegiate choir director for over twenty years and has taught high school in Oklahoma, Texas and Florida. Dr. Sneed made her Carnegie Hall conducting debut in 2007 with singers from Oklahoma, Texas and Alabama. She has conducted major choral/orchestral works with her own orchestra, and has been an invited conductor to perform with the Oregon Bach Festival Choir and Orchestra and the Varna (Bulgaria) International Conductor's Workshop for the Brahms' Requiem. Her American choirs have toured overseas and in the United States, singing at NAfME and ACDA state conferences. They also have performed with Kenny Rogers and Dave Brubeck.
Sneed is a published editor and arranger with Earthsongs, Colla Voce and Hal Leonard. She currently is working on a choral language text with Oxford University Press, and has presented at national ACDA and NCCO conferences. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Furman University, Sneed received her masters from Southern Methodist, and doctorate from Michigan State. She is an active member of ACDA, TMEA, and is the former secretary for the National Collegiate Conductors Organization.
