RElax CLASSES (AFRICAN DRUMMING)

RElax CLASSES (AFRICAN DRUMMING):

Maria teaches both Samba and African drumming through Town of Bassendean RElax Program.

She has been involved with West African percussion since 2015. She learned to play Marimba, Ballet Dunduns, Djembe and is currently learning the Kora (African Harp.) She has also been a member of the 'African Oz Drum n Dance' band, where she performed at the Fairbridge Festival and the Toodyay Festival, also assisting in African percussion workshops in Leederville.

After completing an African drum Facilitator course, she also studied from various worldwide drum schools, she participated in West African drumming Workshops with Beleza Samba in Fremantle.

With the knowledge gained, Maria designed and implemented her own teaching program, that is taught through the RElax Classes in Bassendean. These classes are structured in a fun and educational way, incorporating traditional music and rhythms  from Ghana West Africa. No experience needed and all instruments are supplied.
