French caning

French chair caning is a specialty. Your chair is french style if it has a woven seat, like a cane chair, with holes around the frame which do not go through to the back or bottom. From the front, the chair looks very similar to a normal woven cane seat, but very different from the back as none of the weaving is seen. This is a very elegant and clean-looking technique for chair backs. However, it takes much longer than regular chair caning, so the cost is higher, and many people do not understand the technique.
